Located on the Rio Puerco just west of Albuquerque New Mexico, Paramotor City offers powered paraglider pilots one of the most comprehensive flying facilities anywhere.
Nestled in the Rio Puerco Valley, a couple of minutes off of Interstate 40, launching from the groomed LZ is just the beginning of a flight only minutes from amazing desert,
mountain and valley vistas. Fly along the mesas, and dip down into the dry river beds. Watch from the air as horses, antelope and coyotes race along the valley below.
Once you land after an amazing flight, you
will find what can’t be had anywhere else; a fully outfitted
motor repair shop where Denzel Thompson will gladly help you with
whatever engine troubles you may have. And if you have concerns
or problems with your wing, or if it’s just time for your yearly
inspection, owner/operator Michelle Daniele will put your mind at
ease.
Add to that one of the friendliest,
and most hospitable groups of PPG pilots to be found anywhere. The
Route 66 Flyers (more than 65 members strong), are some of the
nicest, most fun-loving people you’ll ever get to know.

Paramotor City is located approx. 15
miles west of Albuquerque, Exit 140 off of Interstate Highway 40.

Altitude at the field is 5,300’ ASL,
so launching here makes for quite an adventure, and is amazing for
honing ones skills. Once airborne though, it’s hard to find more
beautiful scenery to take in. Whether flying southwest to Wild Horse
Mesa, north to the exotic badlands, or east towards Albuquerque to
maybe meet up with some hot air balloons up for a morning launch,
flying from the Rio Puerco is an experience not to be missed.
Weather here is usually pretty warm
and special. We do have our windy season in spring. And we do get
some rain from time to time. Winters can be a bit cold, but usually
pretty short.
But you won’t find many places that
offer more days in the year that are flyable. And while you’re here
enjoying the flying and maybe a weekend pot-luck dinner, drop off
your wing for that much needed inspection, and have Denzel take look
at your engine to make sure it’s all that it can be. Can’t do better
than that!
