2nd Annual PPG Balloon Fiesta Fly In

Friday October 6 to Monday October 9, 2000

Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

For 28 years, Albuquerque has dazzled millions of spectators with a "sky show" of hot air balloons, creating the most spectacular and most photographed event in the world. Add to it the array of graceful aircraft known as PPGs and you've got a combination promising to please.

Near Cabezon Peak

That year, American flyer has chosen to coordinate this event off site from the Balloon Fiesta park. This allowed pilots much more flexibility to launch early and be in the air at the same time with the balloons.

The PPG base of operations was at an alternate balloon field and will had dry camping available, portable toilets and briefing and meeting tents.  This four-day event featured a mix of flying and fun, sure to please every pilot.

Badlands

The Fly-In included a trip to scenic Cabezon Peak, returning to the "badlands", and a trip to the Balloon Fiesta balloon glow/fireworks show.
