Our 20 American pilots included PPG instructors Bill Walsh, from Massachusetts, Bruce Brown, from Ohio and PPC instructor, Randy Chavez from New Mexico. The rest were from Canada, France, Belgium, South Africa and Malaysia.Our foreign delegation included Michel Touitou, former French PPG champion, Guy Leon Dufour, owner / president of Adventure, Thierry Simonet, manufacturer of the Back Bone Parameters, and François Lagarde, the French pilot featured in National Geographic's March 1999 issue.Equipment included the Paramotor, Paratour's SD line, the Adventure, DK, Mini Plane, Back Bone, Jet Pocket and Six Chuter.The Volunteer staff included Eric Dufour (owner of Paratour / PPG instructor), Alan Chuculate (writer, PPG/PG and hanglider instructor), Bill Bennett (pioneer and developer of the sport of hangliding), Francesco De Santis "Check" (owner of U Can Fly 2 / PPG instructor), Scott Alan (owner of Paraborne / PPG instructor), Boris Mayforth (PG / PPG instructor) and Andy McGavin (PPG instructor).The event lasted nine days. As a Paramotor pilot and someone who happens to be a video producer, Bill Werntz ( werntz777@aol.com ) made sure he was there. He has produced a video that takes you behind the scenes with candid interviews and up close and personal shots of the many colorful pilots who made this Paramotor flying on a Paramotor at this event, a reality, not soon forgotten. |
